Congratulations, as you already know this is a process that takes careful planning and consideration.  There are other people involved in your life that have ideas and suggestions that unfortunately don’t always fall in line with your thoughts and plans.

Patience is the key ingredient when preparing for your BIG DAY.

To coin an old saying: “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and neither will your wedding be arranged overnight.  You will have to give yourself some much needed grace as you consider every option and anticipate every decision.

Organizing your thoughts on paper is often the first step.

At some point you will feel overwhelmed and that’s understandable.  In my experience a big or small wedding still requires your undivided attention to details.  These small details will be the difference between excellence and average.  Now average is fine, but I have yet to meet a Bride who tells me that average is what they were hoping for on their wedding day.  As mentioned earlier, organizing your event is the beginning but the key ingredient for your sanity is the help of a friend.   It’s worth mentioning that a friend might be your first consideration and if that’s not an option consider immediate family.

Call on that friend that is “The Organized One” a loyal individual that will help you when you can’t help yourself.

So lets see where we are, the reinforcements have arrived the ideas are on paper and you have assembled a perfect foundation before the actual work begins.  Now be careful to avoid the hidden pitfalls which would be, never giving you enough time.

Time for what?

You will be surprised to know that your planning has just begun; you still have to work with schedules, most importantly your own.  But then there’s the Caterers schedule and the Church schedule etc...

Allow yourself enough time to anticipate the unexpected.  That information is worth its weight in GOLD.

Navigating through this process is a process but never forget to give yourself some much needed GRACE.
